Wish I'd picked another one

tl;dr: love it, but for tactile use I wish I'd gotten the Element style.

I like the way this looks and feels overall and wear it most days, but it's hard to tell by touch which tick mark I'm touching. I often touch the minute hand ball, slide to the nearest tick mark and then and adjacent 0/15/30/45 min mark because I can't tell which of the intermediate 5 min marks I'm touching. It took some practice to tell the long ticks from the short ones, and I still mess it up sometimes (after a few weeks). It works, don't get me wrong, but I wish I had chosen one of the Element style watches because it looks like you could tell by touch the intermediate tick marks and the bump is different for the 0/15/30/45 min marks from the intermediate ones.

Overall I'm pleased with this watch but I wish I had thought harder about how it would feel. I think in a few years, after I've gotten my money's worth out of this watch, I'll come back and buy an Element or whatever design appears to have distinguishable intermediate ticks.

Also, I think some Amazon reviews complain about the minutes on the surface instead of around the edge because visually it's backwards from long/short hands of a clock, but when I'm checking my watch tactilely I'm more often checking for minutes and the face is a lot easier to feel for - finding the hour ball can be quite the search at night. So, I wholeheartedly agree with the face-is-minutes design.

I get the most tactile use out of this watch from (1) subtly checking the time in meetings/conversations/chats I'm bored and (2) checking the time when I wake up in the middle of the night and don't want to turn on any lights. Haven't tried it in a movie theater or campground or stargazing environment or VR headset, but anywhere it's dark or you're avoiding light I could see this coming in handy.

Sometimes the ball bearing gets out of alignment, but to be honest I actually enjoy playing with it (knocking it around on purpose) so that's not a big deal for me. I used to have trouble at first telling time by touch because I'd knock the ball away from the magnet when feeling for it, but I quickly learned to slide my finger away from the center (up/down on the hour ball) to check time, which never knocks it out because there are no forces tangential to the track that way. I now search for the ball by repeatedly sliding my finger/thumb away from center (or up).

I'm not blind, but I really like this watch! Just wish I'd gotten the Element style, or another one where the tick marks don't all feel the same.

Amazing and functional

My daughter is 9 and blind. This watch works very well for her. Although pricey, it is well worth it for her to be able to manage her own schedule.
